Thigh Lift Procedure in Fargo, ND
A thigh lift procedure improves leg contours by tightening and smoothing out the skin on the inner thigh, outer thigh, or both. Although many patients’ main motivation for surgery is to improve the cosmetic appearance of their legs, a thigh lift carries the added benefit of removing problems associated with irritation or chaffing when walking and allows for the patient to wear a wider variety of clothing styles.
During your consultation, Dr. Adams will determine the best method based on your needs and goals. Thigh lift surgery is commonly performed in conjunction with liposuction surgery for even better results. The most popular form of a thigh lift procedure is a medial thigh lift. A medial thigh lift begins with an incision upon the upper, inner thigh and groin. This procedure removes excess skin and fat while tightening the upper thigh.
FAQ: Thigh Lift
Am I a good candidate for thigh lift surgery?
The best candidates for a thigh lift are patients in good health and are at or near their target weight. In order for thigh lift results to last, patients should be dedicated to a healthy lifestyle and ongoing weight management. However, if patients have not found results through dieting and exercise, they may still be candidates for a thigh lift combined with other cosmetic surgeries.
How long is the recovery from thigh lift surgery?
Immediately following your thigh lift procedure, you will notice a difference in the size and shape of your thighs. Compression garments will need to be worn to help reduce any possible swelling and to aid in shaping your newly contoured thighs. Over the next couple weeks, your thigh appearance will continue to change and be enhanced as swelling and bruising lessen. Healing can take up to six weeks, during which you should avoid vigorous exercise.
Will I have visible scars after thigh lift surgery?
There is a potential for scarring with any surgery and often it is inevitable. However, Dr. Adams purposely positions incisions in areas where scarring will be the least noticeable. In some cases, scars from a thigh lift may drift and may no longer be hidden by swimwear and underwear, but their appearance will continue to fade and improve in the months following surgery.
What are the risks of thigh lift surgery?
Major complications with a thigh lift are rare but can include the possibility of excessive swelling that takes longer than normal to subside, negative reactions to anesthesia, infection, or blood clots. In addition, asymmetry between the two legs is a potential risk.
How much does thigh lift surgery cost in North Dakota?
The cost of thigh lift surgery can vary. After your consultation with Dr. Adams, we will provide a detailed cost estimate, and will also discuss payment methods, scheduling, and financing options. In general, price shopping for surgery isn’t recommended. It is best to choose a plastic surgeon that you are comfortable with, trust, and one that has the proper training from an accredited plastic surgery training program.
