Plastic Surgery Clinical Practice Coordinator (LPN or MA)

 

Job Description 

POSITION TITLE: Plastic Surgery Clinical Practice Coordinator (LPN or MA)

STATUS: Non-Exempt (Full-Time)

REPORTS TO: President/CEO 

Position Description: 

The Center for Plastic Surgery is seeking a highly motivated, passionate, caring, and patient-forward nurse to join our team as the lead clinical nurse for our surgical guests. This position focuses on creating an excellent guest experience and providing the highest level of care.  Core functions include caring for patients undergoing cosmetic and reconstructive procedures,  performing patient screening tasks including rooming patients and taking vitals and health history, setting up and assisting with in-office procedures, pre and post-operative care, patient education and communication, patient call triage,  and maintaining a well-stocked, efficient and organized clinic. The ideal candidate is friendly, empathetic, organized and adaptable, and eager to work with a passionate, caring, and motivated team!

Core Functions

  • Provide an exemplary guest experience at all times
  • Create and support a collaborative environment that promotes teamwork and a culture of customer service for all CFPS guests, team members, vendors, and partners
  • Perform patient screening tasks including rooming patients and reviewing medical history 
  • Document findings and actions appropriately and timely in patients’ medical records
  • Prepare the procedure room before in-office procedures
  • Assist physicians and providers with in-office procedures and treatments as needed
  • Handle cosmetic and reconstructive surgery patients in an unbiased, non-judgmental manner
  • Collaborate with the entire team to ensure all guest’s needs are met
  • Care for patients after procedures to ensure they’re healing properly, including post-operative follow-up
  • Support patients and their families throughout their journey at CFPS
  • Build meaningful relationships with our patients and offer comprehensive, patient-focused care
  • Maintain a general knowledge and understanding  of all CFPS services and products including all surgical and non-surgical procedures and skincare
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and equip  and organize exam rooms with appropriate supplies
  • Assist in educating the patient and family members regarding a medical condition, procedures, and medication and preventative measures as necessary and appropriate
  • Efficiently triage patient’s telephone calls and emails and provide consultations and/or recommendations for appropriate treatment
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Actively participate in team meetings and gatherings 
  • Care for exam rooms between patients including changing linens and restocking items
  • Assists with practice operations including greeting guests, answering calls, giving tours, selling services, using our point-of-sale system to check out customers, operating our wellness equipment, light cleaning, etc. as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA)
  • 2+ years of outpatient clinic experience
  • A strong ability to manage and team-build, a strong value system, unquestioned integrity, and good judgment 
  • Excellent listening, verbal, written and customer service skills
  • Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff
  • Ability to appropriately interact with patients, families, staff and others 
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions consistent with company strategy and values
  • Knowledge of clinic policies, patient records, physician’s orders, procedures and guidelines
  • Proficient in performing all applicable treatments
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality
  • Experience with EHR (Electronic Health Record)

 

Physical Requirements

  • Standing and walking is required for the majority of time spent in the clinical area and standing in one position is required while performing certain aspects of patient care. 
  • Walking occurs on vinyl, tile, linoleum, or carpeted floors.
  • Regular lifting of medical supplies, medications, patient supplies, and patient charts, all weighing up to ten pounds is required.
  • Frequent carrying of medical supplies and other items weighing up to 45 pounds is required, along with occasional carrying of certain medical equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
