Dupuytren’s Disease
If you have progressive bending of your fingers or rope-like cords in your palm you may have Dupuytren’s disease. Initially, Dupuytren’s disease may present as painless lumps in the palm or dimpling of the skin which is called pitting. Eventually, cords may develop which progressively tighten, pulling the finger into the palm.
Fargo plastic surgeon Dr. Nicholas Adams has extensive training and experience in the treatment of Dupuytren’s disease through surgical and non-surgical (Xiaflex). To schedule your personal consultation, please call the Center for Plastic Surgery at 701-412-2400; if left untreated, progressive contracture of the finger can lead to decreased grip strength and permanent deformity of the fingers.
