Neck Lift

Correct the Signs of Aging on the Neck and Jawline

Neck Lift Surgery in Fargo, ND

As we age, our faces and necks are affected differently. Some people develop wrinkling and sun damage on their entire face and neck. Some people lose facial fat, accumulate fat on the neck, or develop more exaggerated signs of aging on their neck. Neck lift surgery corrects signs of aging on the neck and jawline and often accompanies facelift surgery for a more comprehensive facial rejuvenation.

Fortunately, a neck lift can be one of the most transformative procedures in plastic surgery. By removing excess skin and unwanted fat from the neck, as well as tightening up neck muscles and salivary glands, a neck lift is able to dramatically rejuvenate a patient’s appearance and restore the natural contours of the neck.

The procedure addresses:

  • Excess fat in the lower face
  • Excess skin at the jawline
  • Fatty deposits under the chin
  • Loose neck skin

At Center for Plastic Surgery, we carefully research and recommend only the most reliable surgical solutions that we believe will provide the best and most consistent results for our guests. The staff at CFPS pledges to carefully listen to each guest’s individual goals and vision for their improvements. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Adams to see if you are a candidate for this procedure!

FAQ: Neck Lift

Who are good candidates for neck lift surgery?

If you have any of the following issues you wish to correct, you may be a good candidate for neck lift surgery:

  • Sun damaged neck skin
  • Double or triple chin
  • Loose or saggy skin on the neck
  • Fat or too much skin under the jaws
  • Excess fat anywhere on the neck
  • Loose neck muscles
  • Large or drooping salivary glands
What are the risks to neck lift surgery?

All surgical procedures carry some risk and neck lift surgery is no different. Although there is the chance of complication, major complications are rare. One of the more common complications is a hematoma, or blood collecting underneath the skin. When they are small, hematoma can go away without any intervention, however large hematomas require urgent evacuation.

How long is the recovery from neck lift surgery?

Patients have reported less pain with neck lift surgery, and you should feel pretty good in 1-2 days, but it is important to refrain from any strenuous activity for at least the first week after surgery. You should refrain from any exercise for 1 month and heavy exercise for 2 months, although you should be walking around as much as possible after surgery. Initially, the swelling will distort the way you look but will improve after 2 weeks. It will take about 3 months until most of the swelling resolves and you see your true results.

When will I see results from surgery?

Full results may not be visible for up to six months, but noticeable results will be seen immediately and will continue to improve in the weeks following surgery.
