About Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid surgery involves modification to the skin, muscle, and fat of the eyelids to produce a more youthful appearance. Some typical signs of aging of the eyelids include the development of excess skin that can sag and interfere with peripheral vision, eye bags, and excess fat.

FAQ: Eyelid Surgery
Ideal candidates for blepharoplasty are healthy adults who are bothered by excess skin or fat around the eyes. Candidates should have realistic expectations about the results and understand the recovery process.
Eyelid surgery is most commonly performed under general anesthesia. Dr. Adams will discuss the best anesthesia options for you during your consultation.
Eyelid surgery can create a more youthful and refreshed appearance by removing excess skin and fat around the eyes. It can also improve vision if drooping eyelids are obstructing your line of sight. Additionally, the procedure can help restore a natural, alert look to the face.
Most guests experience some swelling and bruising for the first 7-10 days following surgery. While you can typically return to light activities within a few days, it may take several weeks for the final results to fully emerge. Dr. Adams will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to ensure a smooth recovery.
Scarring is typically minimal and well-hidden. For upper eyelid surgery, the incision is made along the natural crease of the eyelid, while lower eyelid surgery may involve an incision hidden just below the lower lash line or inside the eyelid. Scars generally fade over time and are discreet once healed.
